Skill Building Breakout IV: Coalitions at Work Maximizing the Prevention and Recovery Partnership

This session will demonstrate how Wilson County has created a community of readiness to engage both prevention efforts and the recovery community thus strengthening the continuum of care.  Participants will hear real life examples of marrying prevention and recovery efforts.  Participants will also be encouraged to share their experiences and exchange ideas during the session.

 

Erin is the Director of the Wilson County Substance Prevention Coalition.  She is the Co-Director of the North Carolina Lock Your Meds Campaign.  She has worked with the Wilson County Coalition for 10 years in the prevention of substance use disorders among young people.  Her work has been specifically focused on preventing underage alcohol use & of-age over consumption and prescription drug misuse through environmental strategies and community based processes. Erin has a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. Religion & Philosophy from Barton College.  She has lived in Wilson for 15 years, has a husband named Aaron, and two children, Audrey (5) & Axel (3).
